The Baltimore Convention Center is located between the Baltimore's Inner Harbor and Oriole Park at Camden Yards (home of the Baltimore Orioles MLB franchise). The convention center is surrounded by the numerous restaurant, entertainment and hotel options of the Inner Harbor. The center opened in 1979 and was expanded in 1996 to it's present size of over 1.2 million square feet. This expansion included a 36,000 square foot ballroom and brought the total meeting space of the facility to 85,000 square feet. Presently a project to build a convention hotel attached to the center via a covered skybridge is underway. The hotel will feature 752 rooms and additional meeting space available for overflow from the convention center.
