The Las Vegas Convention Center was built in 1959
and has gone through several expansions throughout
its history. One of the most notable was the 1998
expansion that involved the spectacular implosion
of the Landmark Hotel and Casino tower. Presently
the center boasts 3.2 million square feet of total
space. Numerous services are available at the complex
including wireless internet services, 15 concession
stands, 2 Starbucks cafes, 2 full-service restaurants,
audio recording rooms and in-house registration services.
The center is also connected to the Las Vegas Monorail
providing easy access to numerous Las Vegas hotels
and attractions. The system runs parallel to the Las
Vegas Strip beginning at the MGM Grand and ending
at the Sahara. Tickets are $5 per-ride or $9 per day.
